Tin box, lined in thin carton container containing:

• 2 tea bags 100% cotton with approximately 2.5g each, of Gyokuro Asahi Tea from Japan.
• 1 glass bottle with approximately 50mg of 24K edible gold flakes and 10ml of mineral water.

Gyokuro Asahi is made only with the earliest leaf buds of the spring harvest in Japan. The tea is grown under shade cover (using a reed, bamboo mats or straw screens) for 2 or 3 weeks before harvesting begins. Growing the tea in diffuse sunlight reduces photosynthesis and minimal oxidation which allows this tea’s leaves to keep more of their natural nutrients and antioxidants that contribute to the colour, aroma, and taste.

Less exposure to sunlight results in a mild and sweet flavour and less astringency. Now the best grades of this tea are becoming more widely available outside of Japan as more tea lovers learn to appreciate this wonderfully fragrant and delicate tea.

The tea contains naturally occurring caffeine. Although the levels of caffeine in green tea are slightly lower than you’d expect to find in black tea and considerably less than in a cup of coffee.
