The official name is additive E175. Tea specialists are describing this additive as chemically inert, biocompatible, antiallergic and totally safe for the organism. Gold (E 175) is authorised as a food additive in the European Union (EU) in accordance with Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008, and specific purity criteria have been defined in Commission Regulation (EU) No 231/2012.
